About Terry Sand

Terry Sand is a San Francisco artist, modern dance choreographer, television personality, improv comedy actress, teacher and motivational speaker.
Terry is a member of “Art Bias” a cooperative artist community south of San Francisco. Her studio is located in Redwood City CA. During Terry’s years as a comedian, she was known in the SF Bay Area for her work on television, stage, and at corporate conferences. Throughout the country Terry presented keynote speeches and seminars on “Humor in the Workplace” and "Humor and Healing." She is a lifetime member of Playfair, Humortech, and founding member of Femprov, the first San Francisco all female improv troupe. Terry is honored to have been crowned the first "Miss Haight-Ashbury” a historic San Francisco distinction.
Her artistic media includes pen and ink, watercolor, model magic, acrylics, wire sculptures, charcoal, and bottle art. Terry’s comedic core infuses all her art, where her characters are typically posed in incongruous situations. Terry is greatly influenced by the works of Chagall, Matisse, Henry Moore, Picasso, and Calder.
Terry earned her Bachelor and Master’s of Art degrees in Modern Dance from the University of California Los Angeles. As a choreographer, she drew her works first, before applying them to dance. Terry has drawn and painted throughout her life. Currently, she is focused on introducing her art to a broader audience.
She has shown and sold her work at local San Francisco art shows. The SPCA in Manhattan Kansas welcomed her work to their annual silent auction art show. She held two successful art shows at The Moldaw and the Equestrian Tack and Art Show in Palo Alto, CA . She has completed and sold commissioned pieces.
